This process will be carried out under the professional tutelage of an industry professional with professional equipment from <\/span><b>Inis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (l\u2019Institut national de l\u2019image et du son) and <\/span><b>PRIM<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Productions R\u00e9alisations Ind\u00e9pendantes de Montr\u00e9al)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Filmmakers will address the issue of social integration of people from black communities in Montreal through film. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The program addresses young Montrealers between 18 and 30, who are from black communities and have a passion for cinema. Potential candidates have a dream to work in the audiovisual field but have not yet had the opportunity, due to social, economic and\/or cultural reasons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Eligibility criteria:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be between 18 and 30 (included) on the date of application..<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be from a black community.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have demonstrated an interest in the audiovisual field and documentary filmmaking.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have concrete career-oriented plans in the audiovisual field. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrate motivation for the program.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be available for activities related to the program, particularly from September 2018 to June 2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Live in the greater Montreal area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submit a video or film you made in a non-professional setting (short film, clip, video, etc.).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submit a concrete documentary project that fits the program theme (250 words).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have a good command of written or spoken French (enough to be able to follow the training &amp; fully benefit from the mentorship provided).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People who have already created, completed or directed professional videos or films are not eligible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The films can be made in French or English, but each selected candidate will need sufficient knowledge in French in order to be able to follow all trainings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hurry and send in your application before <b>September 17, 2018<\/b>, by filling out the\u00a0<u><b>form below<\/b><\/u>, to have the chance to participate in this program. The FCF focuses on black culture (in Montreal, Toronto, Halifax and New York City) and Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois culture (in Port-au-Prince). It wants to continue creating a space for discussion and debate about important current cultural, social and socio-economic issues through film talks, panel discussions, conferences, and other events. In addition to showcasing and giving a voice to artists who otherwise wouldn\u2019t be seen or heard, the FCF participates in the development of different artistic disciplines through education by offering training and professional development workshops, as well as artist awards and grants. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fondationfabiennecolas.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.fondationfabiennecolas.org<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><b>Article 2 \u2013 Introducing the \u201cYouth and Diversity\u201d program<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>FCF program, \u201cYouth and Diversity\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> offers training, professional mentors and a visibility platform in the audiovisual field to 10 young, promising filmmakers from black communities. They will not have to provide justification or motivation, and cannot under any circumstance be the subject of a complaint. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Organization reserves the right to select fewer participants than expected.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Article 6 \u2013 Schedule and conditions<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp; &nbsp; 1. Overall schedule of the 2018 edition of the \u201cYouth and Diversity\u201d program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NB: a detailed schedule will be given to selected participants. Filmmakers participating in the program are required to participate in scheduled events.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp; &nbsp; 2. Young filmmakers agree to follow technical guidelines (length, format, etc.) and the program\u2019s \u201cBeing Black in Montreal\u201d theme.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp; &nbsp; 3. Young filmmakers have full creative and editorial licence over their film and will be the writer and director. However, he or she agrees to assign the international rights for an unlimited time to the organization (and its designated partners), who could, in whole or in part, distribute the film through any existing medium, submit it to different festivals, make it available for free and\/or sell it through broadcasting platforms, if applicable. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp; &nbsp; 4. The filmmaker is responsible for transportation fees and meals throughout the program.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><b>Article 7 \u2013 Participation agreement<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All selected competitors must sign a participation agreement stipulating an authorization to distribute, transfer rights and that their image may be used by sponsors, financial partners, the organizer and the show\u2019s broadcaster, compliance with program rules, and that all work is unpaid.
