Montr\u00e9al, September 28, 2014<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 The 10th<\/sup> edition of the Montreal International Black Film Festival (MIBFF), created by the Fabienne Colas Foundation<\/strong> and presented by Global Montreal<\/strong>, announced its prize winners at the Festival’s closing ceremonies on September 28, 2014 at the Auditorium of the Grande Bibliot\u00e8que. Winners were selected by a professional jury.<\/p>\n

Narrative Feature films: <\/strong>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Pierre<\/strong>, president of the jury, actor; Danielle Godin, <\/strong>multidisciplinary artist; Henri Pardo, <\/strong>actor, director,artistic director of \u201cBeing Black in Montreal\u201d.<\/p>\n

Documentary Feature Films: Ann Arson<\/strong>, president of the jury, director; Don Jordan,<\/strong> actor, president of the actors union, ACTRA Montreal; Michel Desjardins,<\/strong> CEO and director of training programs for the INIS.<\/p>\n

Short and mid-length narrative \/ documentary \/ animated Films:<\/strong> Jeanne-Marie Poulain, <\/strong>president of the jury, producer; Sonia Quirion, <\/strong>actress & director; Dwayne Blanchette<\/strong>, Producer.<\/p>\n

Members of the juries evaluated around 40 excellent films that made it to the official competition according to a set of selection criteria (the 10th<\/sup> MIBFF had around 100 films from nearly 35 countries). While all films were outstanding, the following really stood out:<\/p>\n
