Montr\u00e9al, October 8, 2020 \u2013 The Montreal International Black Film Festival (MIBFF), created by the Fabienne Colas Foundation and co-presented by Quebecor and Desjardins, was an unprecedented success! The 16th MIBFF has welcomed over 300,000 festival-viewers online from Canada and around the world.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis wave of solidarity confirms the need for the Montreal Intl Black Film Festival in our cultural landscape at an important, defining, moment in our time. It also demonstrates that audiences are more eager than ever to explore other realities and see real diversity on screen.” – said Fabienne Colas, the MIBFF President-Founder<\/p>\n
MIBFF is pleased to announce the winners of the first 2020 AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARDS. The Festival team unveiled the winners on its social networks today, one category at a time, in order to spotlight each winning film.<\/p>\n
Throughout the online event, MIBFF All Access Pass holders had the opportunity to vote for their favorite films on the Festival’s online viewing platform in the following categories: Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Mid-Length Documentary, Narrative Short Films, Documentary Short Films. MIBFF festival-viewers gave 1 to 5 stars to more than 120 films from 30 countries.<\/p>\n

\nCreated in 2005 by the Fabienne Colas Foundation, the Montreal International Black Film Festival (MIBFF) is currently the largest Canadian film festival entirely dedicated to black realities from all four corners of the world. It aims to offer the public the most spectacular productions in black cinema and debate the great cultural, social, and socio-economic issues facing society. The MIBFF goal is to promote the development of the independent film industry and showcase more films depicting black realities around the world.
