The 19th Montreal Int. Black Film Festival will be held ONLINE and in Person from Sept 26th to October 1st, 2023 

We are using a platform named CineSend which gives viewers a high quality in-home cinematic experience while also providing studio-grade security for our filmmakers. All films, including the opening, closing films and Being Black in Canada short films, are included in the Festival All Access Pass and will be available on the online platform.

For your tickets or passes you will receive an email message from SQUADUP our ticket sales provider.

GENERAL FAQ

HOW CAN I PURCHASE PASSES OR TICKETS? 

We offer  a unique All Access Pass for $99 that gives you access to ALL the 2022 Festival online film screenings. You can also buy the In Person All Access Pass for $119 plus taxes and fees HERE

HOW DO I ACCESS THE FILMS? 

After purchasing your Pass, you will receive info’s on how to connect in your mailbox.

  1. In your email You will receive an message from SQUADUP or ticket sales provider.
  2. On your ticket, you will find the link to connect to the streaming platform of the Festival
  3. Once on the platform, a “Member Login” box appears
  4. To login, enter the email address you used for the purchase
  5. You will be ask to create your password.
  6. You are now ready to enjoy your films.

WHEN CAN I WATCH THE FILMS? 

The opening film will be streaming on the online platform at 7pm (ET) on September 27, 2023. 

And all of this year’s films will be available to watch on the Festival streaming platform from Sept 27 9pm (EST) to October 1st at 11h59 pm (EST).

CAN I WATCH FILMS FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD? 

All films are available throughout Canada. Short films are available worldwide and feature films are available in Canada only due to film licensing agreements.

HOW DO I ACCESS MIBFF BLACK MARKET?

All MIBFF Black Market panels are FREE. In order to participate in MIBFF Black Market panels, YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE. You have to register for each panel you want to join. Once you have registered, we will send you further instructions 48hrs prior to the event to access the panel.

HOW DO I ACCESS SPECIAL EVENTS? 

All movies, including the opening and closing films and Being Black in Canada short films, are included in the Festival All Access Pass and will be available on the online platform. The MIBFF Black Market is free but you will have to register for each panel you would like to attend. Thank you for your help!

I HAVE ISSUES WITH THE PLATFORM. WHAT’S GOING ON? 

If you have any trouble accessing or using the festival’s online platform, please use the Google Chrome browser. We also recommend that you install the latest version of your browser as older versions may not be supported. If you need further assistance, we’ll be happy to help: info@montrealblackfilm.com 

CAN I SHARE MY PASS WITH A FRIEND? 

No. Each Pass is linked to an IP address, only one person can use it. You can not share it. 

ARE REFUNDS AVAILABLE? 

All sales are final. No refunds will be given.

WHAT ARE THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS? 

You can watch content on PCs running Windows 7+, and Intel-based Macs running OSX 10.12+. You can also watch films on Android tablets and phones using Chrome, and on iPhones and iPads using Safari. 

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR WINDOWS COMPUTERS? 

Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 

Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Opera. We recommend using the latest version of your browser. Internet Explorer is not supported. 

 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR MAC COMPUTERS? 

Mac OSX 10.12 or later

CAN I WATCH CONTENT ON MY IPHONE/IPAD? 

Yes, you can watch content using Safari on iOS 11.2 or later. Please note that you must have “Screen Mirroring” turned off for content to play.
